1. Ed Rush - Scarabs - Piranha Pool

This one hasnt left our box since we got it on dub, seems to be timeless, a crowd favorite throughout 2014!

2. Noisia - Shaking Hands - Division

Shaking Hands is just nuts typical Noisia kinda stuff with their top quality  production, from the techy stab to the bassline, no bad taste fault.

3. Billain - Autonomous - Bad Taste

This one is a real « Extraterrestrial » tune, seems that on this one Billain didn t want to follow any rules at all - not the usual DnB ones - and he did good.

4. Mefjus - Emulation - Critical

We like the concept behind the tune by emulating each sound from scratch and really feel how the drop come from nowhere and blowing your mind

5. Phace & Misanthrop - Norwand - Neosignal

Once again the German duo is on top form. Classy production, sounds tight and powerful. Those guys never disappoint us.

Future soul , I have dropped this is so many different types of places and get’s me every time.

Massively into grime always have been , this is a standout tune one of favorite for the year . Bringing back the old skool vibe back to grime, been waiting for somebody to do this.

Great producer from Aus , in my opinion this guy hasn’t put out a bad tune together this year . Brawler is no exception , ticks all the boxes .

1. Noisia - Running Blind [Vision]

Doesn’t really need much of an explanation, this one...  A huge, tearing reese bassline, lashing beats and guaranteed dancefloor destruction every time.

2. Ulterior Motive - Make It Roll [Metalheadz]

Ulterior Motive could do no wrong in 2014 and this for me was their standout track.  Simple but effective and reminiscent of the vintage Konflict sound, this is perfectly executed techno-influenced D&B.

3. Billain - Autonomous [Bad Taste]

Embarrassingly, I overlooked this one for some time...  Felt like an idiot as soon as I heard it though, because Autonomous is stunning.  The ideas, edits and overall attention to detail in this tune are all mind-blowing - big ups Billain!

4. Tech Itch - Something Comes [Tech Itch]

Dark and deadly - for me, no-one can touch Tech Itch when it comes to brooding, menacing atmospheres and creating an impending sense of doom.  I had a slightly more stripped down version of this on dub, but the final release is just as powerful a beast. Relentless.

5. Current Value - Rit [The Sect Music]

Perhaps a bit classless to include something on our own label in this list, but Rit is absolutely deserving of a top 5 place.  CV is a master of whatever style he turns his hand to and this tech-step monster proved that, devastating raves all around the globe with its big and bashy two-step beat, twisted bass riff and catchy hook.  Plus the bleeps in the second drop are just great.

1. Clipping. - CLPPNG

Not the biggest fan of hiphop in general, but clipping. is one of the most daring and innovative gangsters out there at the moment. Simple, but truly powerful adventure.

2. David Lang - Love Fail

Being a long time groupie of David Lang, my judgement might be biased, but I’m giving him credit regardless.

3. Swans - To Be Kind

A crash course on being kind and writing some of the coolest modern music. Not for the faint-hearted.

4. Ben Frost - A U R O R A

Rather unexpected turn of events with Ben’s latest album, but one of the most evocative albums of 2014 nevertheless.

5. SD Laika - That’s Harikiri //

A great example of a bedroom studio recording, the title says it all. Discovered by pure accident and enjoyed all the way through.
