The BILLAIN mothership is touching down once again, and this time releasing a trio of his wonderfully mutated offspring through the infamous Critical Music; whose halls are home to the likes of Mefjus and Emperor. This release shows a slightly different side of Billain, with 'Conflicted' bringing a spacious and minimal broken stepper (at least for the first half, before he warps it into a much more percussively complex beast). But this is a track that could happily be dropped by the 170-oriented half-step cohorts. 'Macular' and 'Subduction' are certainly the tracks that are going to get the biggest arena playout - smashing speaker cones and testing them to their limits in only the way that Billain knows how...

Tracks from the release have been picked up the holy triumvirate of Youtube channels - UKF, Inspector Dubplate and the Neurofunk Grid - check these further down the article :D have also reviewed the release and had this to say about it // (Read the full article here)

"The first track, entitled Macula will blow your expectations of Binary out the window!  If you were expecting an experimental, grime inspired release as previously seen then think again!  Billain lays down some serious neurofunk like only he knows how.  The beats are fast, futuristic and furious with dirty, grimy bass – just the way we like it.  As with any Critical Music subsidiary the production quality is top drawer and just as well as I suspect i’ll be playing this for a long time to come . . .

The second track, Subduction, is another killer!  Perhaps slightly more substantial than the last it replaces Macula’s small, intricate beats with a chunky tech step snare and a wumping bassline, similar to Alix Perez and Icicle’s track “Caution” on Subtitles a few years ago.  For me, this is the track of the release and really brings some serious heat!

The last track entitled Conflicted is a more stripped back number, less intense than the previous two but contains one of the most deadly snares i’ve heard since Katharsys in their heyday.  On the whole this track has a very intelligent, almost tribal feel to it with hints of Current Value/Donny militance.  I think it’ll be a bit of a “Marmite” track, you’ll either get it or you won’t and I certainly do! So once again, huge big ups to the team at Binary"
